Book - The Cape Agulhas

If you like authors like

Wilbur Smith and Clive Cussler.

Then you will absolutely love this story.

This the second edition of the book, the first was published under the pseudonym of James Courtney, now I have taken the plunge and with the assistance of Riverside Publishing Solutions (link  below), published under my own name.

The book has been endorsed by James Barke, MD of Boats.co.uk and with the grateful assistance of Rhoda who has carried out the unenviable task of proof reading.

I have found that one of the hardest tasks required of an author, is to describe a book or story whilst trying to capture the imagination of the reader, but without giving the plot away. So, here goes!

Bruce Williams, the hero in the story flies into Malaga Airport and then sets about the purchase of a motor yacht, The Cape Agulhas. Bruce has recently lost his wife in a tragic road accident which left him very badly injured and from which he is now recovering.

The yacht houses a secret that Bruce discovers early in the story. In the interim period, Bruce meets and falls in love with Charlotte (Charlie). Following a conversation, Bruce is mildly suspicious of Charlie but this does not stop the progression of true love.

There then follows a series of events to steal the secret by an evil Dutchman and the former manager of the chandler from which the boat was purchased. These two are not connected to the other villains involved in the plot. However, there is then a plot to dispose of The Cape Agulhas and kill Charlie at the same time. Following this Bruce and Charlie seek sanctuary in a cove where they meet a pod of dolphins that later befriend them.

Bruce and Charlie return to the UK whilst the Cape is taken out of the water for essential maintenance. Whilst in the UK Bruce makes enquiries through former intelligence colleagues and discovers the truth about Charlie’s murky past. Despite all this, they get married after a whirlwind engagement and then return to Spain in their efforts to avoid the Covid 19 pandemic of 2020. During their period of isolation, they rescue a young Hampshire girl.
